Got
out to East Macon early this morning. My legs were feelin
weak from yesterday's Run. I was determined to put in 4 laps
and did. Met a few people down from ATL pre-riding. Did some
standing around talkin and my Time and AVG MPH shows it. I
got chased by the dogs on my last lap. I meant to take some
video of them chasing to post but didn't have the camera ready.
I practiced the BMX Track several times. Was almost able to
"Manual" a couple of the humps. I just can't seem
to carry the speed required to "Manual" my big rig
over rollers. "Manualing" is riding a wheelie from
one hump over the next. Here is a LINK to some great "Manualing
Tips".
I'm
up late tonight Drawing F'n Residential Floor plans. I'm really
getting sick of this. I love the extra Money But I'm getting
burned out. I'm not taking on any more work till the Fall.
I want to spend my summer with my daughter, Jill and riding
instead of staring into this monitor for hours on end.

Jill
and I went to Macon to the Cherry Blossom Festival this morning.
We went intending to eat the Pink Pancake Breakfast. But since
we slept in til after 8:00 we got there too late and the line
was Looong. We said hello to Jeff
and Mallie
D. who were there also. Most other cyclist form mid Georgia
were in Perry for the Perry
Roubiax. Jill and I were not too impressed with the "international
food bizzar" so we opted to try Adriana's Cafe on
Third Street. It was fantastic, we arrived about 10:45 am
and they do not start serving lunch till 11:00 am. So Jill
had a Hot Chocolate and I had a cafe mocha wile we waited.
The cafe mocha hit the spot, it was kinda chilly out. For
lunch Jill had the Classic Italian sandwitch: Thinly sliced
prosciutto topped with fresh mozzarella, roma tomatoes, Italian
herbs and Spices on freshly baked bread. I had my favorite
salad, the Caprese: Garden Roma tomatoes and fresh mozzarella
cheese marinated red wine vinegar and fresh basil w/balsomic
dressing. All very delicious. They are at 359 Third Street
Down Town Macon. 478-742-2255, serving breakfast and lunch
Mon thru Sat, Dinner Fri & Sat. After that we went to
the Macon Mall and walked around a bit.
After
we got home Jill took a nap wile I finished up some Drawings
I had to complete. I wanted to get that over with so I could
go ride. Once I finished and E-mailed them off I rode the
Back Roads over to Northside High Track and Ran 3 miles in
31 Min flat. I had some weak legs for the ride back home.
Plus there was a mad headwind! I'm planning to get up early
in the morning and ride out to East Macon for some Race Prep
Laps. Here is A

Rode
out at East Macon this mornin. Got there right at sun-up (6:30
am). Picked up 3 bags full of trash then hit the trail. Rode
two fast laps; then as I was coming out from my second lap
I noticed about 10 riders warming up. All of them decked out
in full Mountain Bike Race Garb. I mean spandex for days!
Full suspension XC set ups with clipless and camel backs.
They kinda looked at me funny. Me with my T-shirt, old baggy
shorts, and raggedy running shoes. I struck up a conversation
with one of the dudes and thought I recognized him. They all
were from Gainesville and I had raced against him in the Tumbling
Creek Rumble last October, where I came in last (RESULTS).
They were down to Pre-Ride the trail for the upcoming race.
I showed them how the race would start and where to enter
the woods. They took a wrong turn at the beginning of the
trail. I'm glad I was there to steer them in the right direction.
I led them for a wile, then let them all pass. Most of the
rest of the course is marked pretty well. I was able to over
take three of them as we made are way around. That Made me
feel pretty confident that I will not come in last in SPORT
MEN 30-39 on April 2nd at the East
Macon XC Race.
I
wore my new Pro-Tec Ace Dig helmet. It fit great and is much
lighter than it looks. It is more comfortable than my ole
Troy Lee Edge I've been wearing for the last 10+ Years. It
didn't flop around and bobble, the straps fit perfectly around
my face. The visor was easy to adjust and I had better peripheral
vision.
I
got my new PRYME
shin guards the other day. I ordered them from Dan'sCOMP.
I learned about there site on a thread on the SORBA
Forum. Jeff D. was posting about where to get dirt lids
and I went and checked them out. They sell mostly BMX gear,
a great site. It was fast, I got them in like 4 days. Now
with my new Helmet and Shin Guards I'm gonna look totally
Dirt Jump. What a POSER!

Today
is my 38th Birthday! I am very blessed to have lived a charmed
life for this many years. My day started out with my daughter
giving me a beautifully hand crafted birthday card. Just one
of the quotes on it read "Go Daddy! It's your Birthday!"
For lunch I enjoyed a delicious meal with my daughter at her
school. Square Pizza and Chocolate Milk........ Yummy! After
work I came home to a well planned out scavenger hunt where
I had to follow the clues to find presents. One of the clues
contained a "Wonka
Bar". They lead me to a very nice "Troy
Built" Self propelled lawn mower. I never woulda
guessed that gift. But it was very nice of Jill to get it
for me. Jill also made me some cup cakes. Yellow cake with
chocolate frosting! I had to Ride the Stationary Bike for
an Hour and Run around the neighborhood before I could eat
one though.
I
also got a NEW Helmet! I got a PRO-TEC
"Ace Dig". I really like it alot. I have had my
old Troy
Lee Image Helmet since 1994. It was bout time for an upgrade.

Saturday
I was stuck at home in front of this puter most of the day.
Drawing elevations (16) of the houses I have to complete before
I can start on the new batch of 5 plans, elevations and one
artistic rendering that I recently acquired. I did manage
to skip out and go do a road ride around Warner Robins. Cutting
through neighborhoods I did a loop over to Northside High,
ran 2 miles on the track, then headed home. It was nice to
get out in the sunshine for a well deserved break. I wanted
to do some road riding to kinda break in my new drive train.
Took
my daughter and Jill Bowling at the new Gold Cup Bowling Center
on Russell Pkwy Saturday evening. We met some of Jill's friends
there. The place is very nicely done and High Tech. You can
set the bumpers to automatically pop up on the sides of the
lane when its a kid's turn. Then they fold down for the next
person. I gave the lady at the concessions a dollar tip for
making me a "Fresh" pot of coffee. It wasn't too
bad either.
Today
I got out to East Macon bout 7:30 am and started raking the
final section of the trail. I finished up around 9:30 and
got ready to ride. That completes the raking of the whole
course. Joey from Stockbridge and Chris
Houghtling From Bonaire were around to ride about the
same time so I offered to show them the race route. We road
2 laps and I managed to keep up pretty good. Chris Dropped
Joey and I half way thru the second lap. He weighs 50 lbs
less than me and his bike almost 15 lbs less than mine so
I new I wasn't gonna keep up. It was good riding with someone,
I'm usually riding alone. We had the usual Mountain Bike component
banter like "Is that XTR a rapid rise?" and "I
like So n So tires for sand".... It was great! As Tim
"the Tool Man" Allen would say "GRRRRRR"!
Well those guys bailed out after two laps and I went for a
Solo third. I really wanted to do a fourth but I was just
Spent. There were a Ton of People riding East Macon today.
I'm glad cause the Trail needed to be ridden in. I planned
to go do some Dirt Jumping at Thomson afterwards. I went over
to Thomson bout 1:00 and only Mallie
was there. She had been at East Macon previously, walking
the Whole Course Trimming back the over growth wile I was
doing Laps there. No one else had shown up at Thomson yet
so I just took it to the house.

Working
late tonight on the many house plans I have left to complete
and Drinking A Fine Cup of Coffee. I had to farm out some
Graphic Design work to my Bro TOM.
I know he'll do a good job and needs the extra money to buy
new LIGHTS for the upcoming "Ocmulgee Adventure Race",
Hint Hint.... Yes... It's going to be at night, and 12 hours.....
Now this is just a rumor I heard.
I
love coffee made in my French Press. It comes out much better
than the standard drip type coffee maker. I normally drink
the cheap "Eight O'Clock" Columbian Whole Bean.
My favorite coffee is ILLY.
I order it on-line. If you have never heard of it or tried
it I strongly suggest you do. Especially if you are a Coffee
Junkie like me. It is served in fine restaurants in New York
and around the world. The best coffee I have ever had. Don't
get me wrong I like my Starbuck's too.
I
have a Busy day ahead of me tomorrow. I'm making Oatmeal,
Grits, fruit, and Muffin breakfast at work in the mornin bout
6:00 am. To raise money for our "Relay
For Life Team". Jill made mad muffins tonight for
me to take. It gave her a chance to use her new Kitchen Aid
Pro. I got her for valentine's day. Gonna end the long day
out at the Thomson Dirt Jumps sooo I will have a Bike Post
for yall to enjoy instead of all this culinary gab.

Ran
in the "GIECO 5K to benefit Georgia Special Olympics"
today. Was hoping to finish in under 30 min, I got close,
I finished in 31 min. I started at the very back of the pack
so it took about 30 seconds just to cross the Starting Line.
Also stopped along the way a couple of times to take Photos.
The temperature was in the mid 40's and Sunny.
After
Running I went down the street to East Macon Park and met
up with Don and Angie to do some trail maintenance. We revived
the loop down by right side of the park entrance. It had been
destroyed last year by the Macon Water Folks maintaining the
infrastructure. Click on my new banner at "TRAIL
Photographs" for pictures.
Does
that sound like a good day? Well My evening got even better!
Anouther hobby of mine is Eating. Since I had done soo much
exercise I though I would reward my self; Dinner with a beautiful
lady! (Jill)
at Carrabba's.
The wait was 45 Min. but it was worth it. When dinner was
over I told the waiter "I'm gonna have to call NASA,
cause this meal was Outta This World!"
My
dinner consisted of:
Beverage
- Water
w/Lemon, Long Neck Budwieser
To
start -
Lentil and Italian Sausage soup. Spicy!
Salad
-
Tomato Caprese.....Ripe roma tomatoes and fresh milk mozzarella
topped with fresh basil and extra virgin olive oil, served
with a side of homemade pesto with pine nuts.
Entree
- 11 oz. USDA Choice center-cut sirloin grilled
and topped with mushrooms, prosciutto and Lombardo Marsala
wine sauce.
Desert
-
Tiramisú....... Lady fingers dipped in liqueur
laced espresso, layered with sweetened mascarpone, Myers’s
Rum and chocolate shavings
Topped
off with a beautiful cup of Coffee!

Great
day of riding yesterday. Got out to Thomson jus before 4:00.
I rode two fast laps. My first being sub 30 min. again. Then
I notice some one over at the Dirt Jumps so I went and practice
some jumping with Eric before I got wore out. Made quite a few
passes without fallin! Eric gave me some advice, like not getting
so far back from the jump on approach. I should start my approach
as close as I can, and still get enough speed to clear the jump.
It helped out a lot but I was still case'n most of the landings.
After hitting the DJ's I went and did my final lap.
I
brought the Red Arrows to the OMBA
Meeting at 7:00. I had them printed up at the "Ink Spot"
in Warner Robins. They will make good trail direction markers
for East Macon and other trails. There were alot of people at
the meeting and a bunch of folks riding the trail before hand.
Tonight
Jill, Cassidy, and I went on a 2.5 mile hike in the woods near
our house. Below is a picture of us at the ridge overlooking
the Macon Airport.
