Picked
my bike up from Bike
Tech in Macon Friday. Lucious hooked me up with
a new Bottom Bracket. $41.99 for a Truvativ
Gigapipe Team DH Bottom Bracket and $25.00
for Labor. The total W/Tax was $69.93.
I
put an order in at Performance
for:
I
won't get these parts till ~Jan. 10 because the XT Cassete
is on backorder. Just in time for Thomson Day! I had
replaced my drive train last March
8th. It cost me alot more then.

Hope
everyone got just what they wanted for Christmas. I
sure did, I'm so easy to buy for. I got: 2 pair of dress
socks, a tie from Express,
Be
Delicious cologne from DKNY, Two PUMA
shirts, Puma Sweat bands and socks, a Garmin
ETREX Legend GPS unit, A pair of PRYME
Trailhand Gloves, body wash by
Bath N Body Works and Old
Spice after hours , pajama bottoms, and some One
A Day Vitamins.
I
commuted to work today on the Nebula,
a little chilly this mornin. The ride on the way home
today was FUN. I was justa giggling as the cold rain
came down in the 30 mph wind gust. I'm so lucky I'm
able to do that kind of riding. The nebula is too small
for me so its hurting my knees to ride for very long.
I got to test out the GPS and it worked great. I have
to figure out how to download the maps of my trips so
I can start posting them.

Today's
commute to work: GPS data - 16+ miles round trip,

MERRY
CHRISTMAS!!
Beautiful
Weather we are having this Christmas. I went out to
Thomson for a Run this morning. I was curious about
how the HEAVY rain we had yesterday would affect the
new re-routes. They were in great shape. No puddling
or washed out ruts. Although there were other spots
on the trail that were holding a little water. Thomson
is known to dry out fast after a rain. I talked Jill
into a Backroad cross town ride this afternoon. Short
pants all around since temps were in the 70's!
It's
Been a fun year of Blogging, thanks for reading, I wish
you and your's the best for the Holidays and New Year.
Today's
Run: Thomson, Ran partial lap
Wednesday,
December 20, 2006
Got
off Work early today so I could get a couple laps in
at Thomson before the Meeting. More people showed up
than I expected. We talked about the layout of the field
and things still needed for Thomson
Day. I'm going to have to see about getting some
wood transported from Hood Pallet Supply.
I
talked to Louciuos about my bike today. He ordered me
a Truvativ
Gigapipe Team DH Bottom Bracket. I should be able
to pick my bike up next Friday. Then I will order the
other drivetrain parts needed to get it riding smooth
again.
Today's
Run/Ride: Thomson, Ran partial lap, Rode one
lap on "The Nebula"

Took
my bike up to the shop yesterday and had to leave it
with Lucious. He has to take the Bottom bracket off
to see what kind to order. I'm hoping to get the Truvativ
GigaPiPe I have now replaced with an XT. Holiday traffic
was Frightful!
Today
I ran a partial lap at Thomson.
I only took the last couple of bypasses to shorten the
trail. I ran for 30 min so I think I got close to 3
miles. Then I rode Two laps on the Nebula. I found this
bike a few months ago next to a trash dumpster. I cleaned
it up and put some new tubes in it and it rides pretty
good. Its got Full
Suspension. I think only 1/2 inch of travel though.
This
afternoon I went to the Central
Georgia Cycling Club Meeting. We had some delicious
Lasgna, Salad and Tea. I brought some cookies for everyone
to enjoy. I am now a Member! We talked about some upcomming
events. They had a road ride before the meeting. Here
are Mark D's Photos. I'm planning on getting a road
worthy bike this spring so I can join in the fun.

Been
very busy as of late creating Thomson Day Stuff. First the Flyer,
then had to reformat it for the FTT,
then had to reformat it for HTML, Tonight threw together a animated
banner for the SORBA
site. It's been fun and has helped me sharpen my Graphics Skillz.
I've also sent out a Gazillion E-Mails inviting folks from around
the country to come join the Thomson Festivities.
My
bike is still out of commision. I won't have the loot to score
the new drive chain till after Christmas. I'm gonna order the
parts myself from Performance
and install them here at the house. I've got a Chain
Whip, cassett
cracker, and chain
tool. I'll let Loucious, up at BikeTech
Change out my Bottom
Bracket.
Still
Keeping up the weight training. After next week I'm going to
up the weight but still keep the same reps. Looking to get some
new running shoes. My old New
Balance are wore out. I have a 1.1 mile loop around my neighborhood
perfect for running 3 times to equal a 5K.
Today's
work-Out: Curls 3 sets-10, UpRight row 3 sets-10, military
press 3 sets-10, all w/55lbs

Raked
the yard this weekend and did some weight training. My torso
is really sore from the raking. I will be glad to get my
HARO fixed. I rode around the block today and the Bottom
Bracket was popping and crackeling.

My
shoulders and back are sore from so much Dirt Jumping
yesterday. I did'nt hit the big jumps I just stayed on
the small rollers and pump section at Thomson. I rode
for 3 hours. I can't do any trail riding until I get my
drivetrain replaced.
The
OMBA meeting went well and we got most of the Thomson
Day activities sorted out. I got Hood Pallet Supply of
Byron, GA to donate the wood for the 3 day long bonfire.
I got Gatliff Farms of Byron, GA to donate and deliver
30 bales of Wheat Straw. Tonight I sent out close to 30
e-mails across the country inviting companies affiliated
with cycling to the event.
We
also decided on the OMBA
Jersey order. We are going with a custom design from
Primal
Wear. I only have one more logo left to get and the
Art work will be complete.
Yesterday's
Ride: Thomson Dirt Jumps
Tuesday,
December 5, 2006
We
had a very productive Trail Work Party over the weekend
out at The Thomson Trail. Approx. 23 people showed up.
We were able to re-route two sections of trail.
Tomorrow
night is the Monthly OMBA meeting at Thomson. I'm planning
on getting there early and practicing some manuals and
hitting the small line of rollers over by the dirt jumps.
Brady,
Jeff
D, and others have done some good digging on the DJs
at Thomson.
They are in great shape. They took out the Tables on the
right side so no more "rolling" over. There
is also a sweet pump line now.
Below
is the AD I created by condensing the Thomson Day Flyer
I made. It will be in the next Fat
Tire Times (The SORBA newsletter).
