Tornado Causes Major Damage to ARROWHEAD TRAIL!

The 2008 Mother's day tornadoes took a toll on our beloved trail system at Arrowhead park on Beaeutiful Lake Tobesofkee Macon, GA. At this time,the trail is closed due to numerous dead fall and debris.OMBA (Ocmulgee Mountain Bike Association) is raising funds for equipment to help our volunteers rebuild and reopen our trail system.Up until now all our trails have been painstankingly built by hand.
Anything you can do to help with this effort would be greatly appreciated.OMBA is a non profit organization.All donations will be tax deductible.

Rd to Arrowhead Dr, Macon, Ga 31220, GPS Lat/Long 32.81685 / -83.8028 About the Course and Park. The course changes personalities as you progress. The first part of the course is very tight and challenging. The rest of the trail has fun challenging downhills and climbs. The course runs along the shore of beautiful Lake Tobesofkee and has a spectator friendly finish. The loop is 5+ miles with around 640 feet of climbing. “I didn’t expect that kind of trail with that kind of terrain in Middle Georgia.” is a familiar comment from racers. Campgrounds offer full electrical and water hook-ups, as well as disposal stations for sanitary purposes. Lakefront or lakeview sites are available along with boat ramps, clean bath facilities, coin operated laundries and a full-time staff of park rangers for your convenience and safety. The campgrounds also offer permanent charcoal grills and picnic tables for campers. The site can accommodate any size recreational vehicle. The park offers a small swimming beach and children’s playground near the campground. CAMPING INFORMATION OMBA (Ocmulgee Mountain Bike Association) is the Middle Georgia Chapter of SORBA (Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association). We are extremely fortunate to have many miles of great trails to ride in this area. Our goal is to promote mountain biking through trail advocacy, trail maintenance, education, special events, and group rides. OMBA meets the first Wednesday of each month 7pm at the LH Thomson Break Room 7800 NE Industrial Blvd,Macon, GA, 31216. OMBA Will also Host the First race of the 2009 Georgia State Mountainbike Championship Series. The race will be held at the Pig Trail March 2009 This trail is located within the city limits of Macon at the Georgia Industrial Children’s Home, 4690 North Mumford Road. The site offers both technical singletrack in a hardwood forest and fast open double track through planted pines. Please THANK a volunteer on race day.
